Level Design
Unreal Tournament 3
CTF-Excavate

Two Mining parties are racing each other to unearth the energy source in this buried Necris ruin.
They made it inside at the same time so now each must fight for control of the unearthed bounty.

Oblivion
House Mods

I spent a lot of time improving flow pace, timing, and intuitiveness of some of the better home base mods. I also try to make them look better and be more functional.
Most of the areas end up becoming completely my own design but are in some way always attached or dependent on the work of other moders. This is why I never release.

Game Development- Independent Projects
Soccer Skillz – Factory 1 Games
My Role: Environment Modeler

Platform: PS2
Genre: Sports
Target Rating: TeenSoccer Skillz is the project I worked on during my practicum. Factory 1 Games was my first exposure to a real studio environment. Needless to say, I learned allot from my time there, and got to create some great models for their demo levels.

Neosaka: The Forgotten – Little Tin Gods
My Role: Director

Platform: PC (UT2004)
Genre: Action/Adventure
Target Rating: Teen

Neosaka is a mod for UT2004 with a 9 month development cycle. I was the team lead, or ‘Director’ of the project. I had final say on all aspects, helped design the levels, created some assets, the marketing materials, scheduling, textures, interface design, etc.
For the most part though, my job was to make the team run smoothly, and make sure that things got done on time and at quality. I resolved lots of team issues and even huge technical crises (like when all of our animation data became un-usable with only 1 month left). In the end we pulled together a very nice presentation and our mod has made it into the finals for the Make Something Unreal Competition. You can take a look and download a copy at www.neosaka.com

X2 – Liquid Moon Studios
My Role: Level Designer

Platform: PC and GBA
Genre: Action/Adventure
Target Rating: Teen

This was one of the projects I worked on during my studies at Ai outside of the classes. This project was Kassan Wright’s idea. I did level design for him and fleshed out some design concepts. You can check out the X2 site to find out more about this awesome game.

Zero|One – ISIS Entertainment
My Role: Game Designer

Platform: PC
Genre: Strategy/Role Playing
Target Rating: Teen/MatureThis was an interesting project which I learned a lot from. It started out as a school project, and turned into much more, with some very large game companies involved.

Concept Documents
Bunny Bubble – Puzzle ConceptPlatform: GBA
Genre: Puzzle/Action
Target Rating: Everyone

This is the third incarnation of my Chu-man-fu concept. The game is designed for up to 4 players co-operative play. The simple core gameplay allows for this concept to be expanded on to take advantage of 3D, or the remain a 2D game with bomberman-like perspectives. The bunnies are trapped in a magical dungeon. They must use the coloured glass balls to destroy walls, roll over enemies, and solve puzzles to find their way out through over 100 maps. View the PDF

Spades – Mature ConceptPlatform: Xbox
Genre: Action/Adventure
Target Rating: Mature

This concept is like DOAX meets JetGrind Radio, mixed with Contra. It has loads of violence at high speeds, with sexy girls. This game is a risky and very pointed concept, aimed at the largest market for Xbox, the college male. View the PDF

Shockwave – Lingo
DC Invasion
My First Shockwave game! You are earth’s last hope as you shoot down the 3 alien instructors in their i-mac space pods. If you miss to many times the game is over. If you have a decent kill ratio then you win!
The background was done in Bryce, and the rest was done in the Director paint window. I apologize for the cheesy explosions, but it’s the code that was the adventure here, not the graphics. This game was my first glimpse at Lingo. I discovered very early that director in the single frame with pure lingo is best, and if you want something done right, you have to code it yourself.
2 Mb
FF8 Triple Triad Card Game

Spencer Brewer and I worked on this huge project without any apparent reason other than to test our skills. We simply wanted to make a game, so we did. He didn’t know much about code so I took on the task of programming the gamepaly part. He concentrated on the menus, the browser, and jukebox. At the end an incessant AI bug drove the project from our minds before we completed the last bit of the project.

Palm Pilot
Norland RPG
I created the tile sets using Windows Paint and Photoshop. and used a world building program to put the RPG elements together on the now ancient Palm 3e. This middle-wear helped to accelerate what might have been a tediously long road toward even an initial prototype.
It takes place in a snow covered place called Norland. You are a prince that barely escaped the destruction of your country. You find yourself washed up on the beach near Futaria with a deep, burning desire for revenge against whatever force is behind the obliteration of your home.. Download Norland for Palm 3

Qbasic Games
Download Qbasic For PC
Star Killers
My First Video Game Ever. Joey, Jp, and myself stayed up all weekend working on it on my brand-new 486 SX. All the Qbasic games are programmed from scratch, even the graphics are made using math and color values in matrices or using a coordinate system. Those were the days…

Unfinished Epic

This was our year end project in grade 11. J.P. and I did allot of work on it. We developed a file reader for BMP format which allowed us to use more powerful tools to create the graphics for the game, powerful tools like Windows Paint. Still it remains the unfinished epic. Download Epic.bas

Hydra Dungeon
Work on this title began immediately after unfinished epic. We used the BMP reader to create these graphics and with the knowledge I gained in pixel art from Unfinished epic I was able to make these graphics much better. we programmed some nice Ai and gravity lots of gameplay. But unfortunately basic has it’s limits. We wanted to make a “Zelda the Adventures of Link” we got an “out of memory”. Download Hydra.bas
